Tiananmen Square
After visiting The Great Wall of China, today we are going to Tiananmen Square.(天安門廣場) We all know one of the most famous incident in Chinese history-Tiananmen Square protests of 1989(天安門事變).
Tiananmen Square is the biggest square in the whole world and it is located in the center of Beijing city. Also, it is famous of the location of the southern of the Imperial Palace. The Square is really big and there are many visitors taking pictures or visiting the Imperial Palace. Actually, my friends and I were so stupid that we didn’t know the Imperial Palace is inside of the Tiananmen, so we had been visited there four times because we couldn’t find the Imperial Palace. As a result, we didn’t go inside of the Tiananmen, but we took a walk around this area.
Because Tiananmen Square is in the center of Beijing and there are many important ancient places around it, the control is very strict by the police. We saw the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong(毛主席紀念堂) where were always full of guards which made us nervous when we passed by. Zheng Yang Men(正陽門) is also astonished us even though we couldn’t go into it, but it was spectacular when we saw it.
In fact, we were surprising to find the shopping area of the Zhenyangmen because we were just getting lost. At the time we couldn’t find the right way to the subway, we found it. It is an interesting place that although it is full of international trends and stores, the structures are classical. For example, we saw Starbucks but not in a fashion or average building; it is decorated in Chinese style which made me feel weird. Stores including local or international are all the same decorations as Starbuck in the whole area. They even had some traditional performances in some buildings to catch customers’ attention.
The area is really interesting because it is typical combination of west and east. If you are free after having dinner, come to visit here with family or friends, you will have fun here no matter shopping or taking a walk.

The Great Wall of China
Today I’m going to introduce you one of the masterpieces of the world: the Great Wall. The day I went was not so perfect as I thought because the weather was very cold and had heave mist which made me can’t see the scenery clearly but I can surely see the magnificent.
I didn’t climb the whole Great Wall actually because of my bad physical strength. As a result, my friend and I decided to take the cable car to the top. Although the cable car was so high that we were all afraid of the high, we still stared at the astonished scenery we saw. On the cable car, we could see very far away about the area that the long Great Wall was around.
After we were on the top, we started to take pictures and walk to the nearest blockhouse. Wow, I had to say that it was really difficult to climb because the incline was too steep to stand on it.
As we went to there in winter, the temperature was really cold and the wind was like the knife cutting your face. Even though the weather was cold enough, we still enjoyed in what we saw like observe other visitors from different countries. They were really interesting that they really admired the masterpiece and listened to the tour guide carefully. Moreover, I had asked one young foreigner, and he said that he did want to climb the whole Great Wall by himself and enjoy the scenery along the way. Actually, I really admired them because they were not Chinese but they know to respect the ancient place.
In fact, I was very touched when I stepped on the Great Wall. I thought that “Wow, it was made thousand years ago and in that time how could people make such a huge and magnificent building. The stone was so heavy that why they could move it from the foot of the mountain? I can’t imagine that the period why they construct it. Because our ancients took so many efforts with sweat and blood that we could admire the masterwork.”
In my opinion, I thing the Beijing government had did the effort to maintain the ancient place and try to promote it. They not only built two cable cars, but also a museum about the history of the Great Wall. It’s a good way to spread Chinese culture and tourism at the same time. If you have the time to visit Beijing, you mustn’t miss the Great Wall, the proud of us.

Introduction
Where have you been in the winter vacation? Or how long you don’t have a travel to other places? Do you want to visit some places but you don’t have enough time or you can’t go because of some reasons? This time I want to introduce you my first time to visit a foreign place and where did I go in last winter vacation.
I went to China last winter vacation and 2 years ago, Beijing and Zhenchen. I have learned a lot of things from my trip and I want to share it with you. Many people may think about that China is nothing interesting to visit and it was an undeveloped country so it’s dangerous to go to there. It will be shame to visit there; moreover, people living there have bad living styles, and they are rude to Taiwanese.
However, the truth is usually not what we think. The two big cities in China that I have visited are developed and people there usually kind to visitors especially Taiwanese. In some eras, they have much more modern living styles and highly material lives that we can’t image. In fact, we should follow them some kinds of ways to design a new city or how to maintain their ancient monuments.
Sometimes, I think Taiwanese are too proud to believe that Mainland China has developed so well that we may have to rely on them. It’s time to understand more about China and we have to introspect ourselves in order to make a much better future for ourselves.
